Why Mindful DBT?

At Mindful DBT, Amber will teach you real life coping skills that you can use in day to day life to help with depression, anxiety, self-confidence, perfectionism, emotion regulation, shame to mention just a few. Amber doesn’t just focus on DBT although that is her background and her main training, she is able to pull from this evidenced based treatment to treat a number of conditions with a treatment that is backed in research.

Amber’s main expertise is treating individuals with self-harming behaviors, suicidal ideation and trauma. She has years of experience treating adults with Borderline Personality Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, PTSD, Anxiety, chronic shame, dissociation, grief and emotional outbursts.

Amber also co-facilitates a 3-day Hope Retreat for survivors of loved ones who lost someone to suicide. This is a place to find hope and support. This is a retreat that is put on by the Fight Like a Ninja non-profit. Amber can also support loved ones individually who have lost someone to suicide.

At Mindful DBT, Amber is passionate about supporting the community and raising awareness about mental health especially among our young athletes. Amber is always open to speaking to local youth sports teams about the importance of mental health awareness especially in this competitive, pressure filled environment. Not all of us react to life events in the same way. Some of us may have BIG emotions, that feel out of control sometimes. Some of us may be more sensitive than others. The emotions can come out of no where, and leave you feeling like you’re on a roller coaster from hell that you can’t get off. No matter how hard you try to be “chill”, “calm”, “good”, etc. it never seems to be enough. You start to second guess and doubt yourself. Leaving you to hate yourself and feel empty, lost, and just make everything worse.
